Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

  1. Very novel idea....................but why?

  2. No idea, but i know gosport/pompey has quite a thriving knitting community who do alot of projects for stuff like that!

  3. Yeah I saw the Santa hat they made to go over the fwd 909 dome on the Ark Royal.

Thing of beauty it was, absolutely huge.

Of course I'm lying, that probably never happened. What sort of nutter knits clothing for ships and submarines?

  4. By similiar projects i mean group projects rather than specifically for ships and subs although that would be quite cool. I can knit scarves but i never had the minerals to play with the big dogs and get involved.

  5. Because winter's coming along?

  6. Can't argue with that.

  7. I can. A scarf's fecking useless without a bobble hat and gloves!

  8. Got to agree there, a pair of gloves on the foreplanes and a bobble hat (at a jaunty angle) on the fin would make sense but without them, just silly

  9. ...and trouser legs. Don't forget the trouser legs.

  10. That's given me some flashbacks  plus don't forget woolly socks for the after planes.

Not sure where you'd fit a woolly willy warmer though?
