French Caps

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Came back from booze cruise last night. Whilst in a bar in Cherbourg forcing a few, I enquired why the french navy wear those red balls on their caps........well not quite that inquisitively. My french failed me on fckuing ice cream man and surrender monkey. Any way i didn't get a plausable answer. Anyone know?
    p.s. I got the blood out of the jacket on the second soak.

  3. The French Navy motto is "A l'eau, c'est l'heure!". Meaning, "To the water, it is the hour!" :D

  5. The frog cap is called a Bechi,and its supposed to bring you good luck to touch the red pom pom.As to why its there,cant find anything on the net.
     
  6. Don't know much about French caps, but wifey had a Dutch cap once. As far as I can remember it didn't have a pom-pom!

  9. Yep. Tried that, hence the blood.
    They kept calling me a 'roast beef'. I explained that exept for an inquisitive babble in Singers in my teens i'm as straigt as a shackle...Bastards.
     
  10. We tried the dutch cap once. It hurt my ears.
