Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Heard on the radio a bit earlier Royal Mail will be allowing free postage of parcels to Iraq & Afghanistan until Christmas.

Well done Sir Richard - didn't take long for Royal Mail to seek a bit of the limelight now did it, or am I just being cynical?

  2. At last!

  3. Now how do we get T. Bliar into a package?

  4. But will it stop the thieving RM bar stewards from nicking the contents ?

Does the Naval postal service at Mill Hill still exist ?

  5. We just got confirmation of that too. It starts on Friday 9th Nov and runs to Fri 7th Dec. 2kg packages max. Unfortunately we cant post back home for free.

  6. Now its free are there any plans to start sending food/goodwill parcels ??
    Already being organised on ARRSE

  7. Believe there will be some sort of goodwill parcel for all personnel deployed

  8. the free postage is only going to apply up until christmas after that charges will come back into play, like everything in this country a fr!gging half measure
