  1. Well tomorrow is the Floral day in Helston and all those who have ever been lucky enough to have had a Culdrose draft and partaken in the towns all day celebrations ( drinking and yaffling oggies) will no doubt remember this little tradition!!
Fiddle fiddle ---big bass drum............................
  2. Satan, for reasons best known to himself, was flying through the air one night carrying a huge boulder with which to block the entrance to Hell. He was spotted by a keen-eyed St Michael, and a great battle ensued, during which Satan dropped his boulder. It fell to earth, trailing a terrible tail of fire, and shaking both the air and the ground with a mighty reverberation. The spot where it eventually landed became known as Hell's Stone.
  3. ahhhhhh spingo......for those who know no more need be said

  7. AHhhhh Flora day, I have memories of that day, being half cut by noon, taking a half hour to get from one pub to another when on a normal day would be a couple of mins walk.

The poor guys on duty bringing back pissed up matelots in the back of tillies and dropping them off on the side of the road to sober up before getting back to camp.

Sleeping it off down by the boating lake, then back up for more.

Oh and of course the dance !!
  8. Beehive, The fitz, Blue Anchor & the Rodney, An under-age chockheads dream 1977, going popping up with the instructors from SAH then getting bollocked by them on monday morning for being there! Then seeing them again on a friday night, same routine on a monday.

  11. You should try everything in life except:
