The charity in question is Arthritis for Children. Noddy is the Patron. WB, sorry you are feeling this way mate x I joined you twice as 'bee-sting' operative over the summer. All I got was REALLY nice people, a fun environment, lots of photos and just away time. SO, from me mate-thank you very much xx

We all struggle with taxes, and finances, and family...et al

BUT, whilst I was sitting there doing Nurse Pinta, the kids were gobsmacked! They dressed up, some of them figuring whether THAT was really Noddy, having their face painted, having a good time, and throughly under bewilderment that NODDY WAS THERE! One wee lad bashed his two front teeth in and STILL wanted to go on bouncy castle!

So chin up BOOTIE!!!!!

Commiserations Blobby. I've worked in a call center and faced the public for years now and after a while all you can hear is "I want" over and over again.

Sometimes I think that the more people have, the more they want.

GHas anyone any information as to the name of the highly paid top executive in the RBL so that we can Google him/her and find out something about them?

It's a her who is the first non-service Head. Her name is readily available

Methinks norman may be out of date again. FD (the her?) has been replaced (no fuss). The director general is not the 'Head' anyway.

The president is a bloke (retired senior Crab) the chairman a bloke (don't know) and the DG is a bloke (I believe a former civil servant). But norman, don't be cross that there are professional administrators administering the RBL. There are insufficient old soldiers sailors airmen and marines to do the job as in the old days, they were all at sea, in a trench or in an aircraft, not ashore driving desks.

Do you get anything right norman?

I can appreciate what your saying WB. Every job Ive worked in since being a teenager (with the exception of one) has been customer/public facing in one way or another. Your right in what you say - most people expect the world handed to them on a plate these days, instead of going out and grafting for it. They dont realise, accept or care that respect has to be earned, that manners doesnt cost a penny and that you get nothing in life is for free!!

Maybe coming from your background - where your Oppos all look out for one another and everything you do has a purpose, is worthwhile and has to be achieved, its harder to accept fckd up civvy behaviour like this?

After reading the shite youve had to endure during the summer, my first impression is to sack it asap. Thinking about it though, is it really going to be better anywhere else? Its a world gone mad mate!!

Good to see the former salaried head has returned to her Chartered Accountancy and left the running of RBL to people with some military service. At least the President , the putative, titular head, is a superannuated crabfat. In case the lady head took her Personal Assistant with her I had better tell you she was called Thomasina Watt...You,ve got it; her mail address was Twatt @ RBL etc.

Well the last few weeks working with the public switching crimbo lights on etc has done nothing to alter my views.

So this morning I said "fuck it". I no longer have to work with the public, I am now packing up all the costumes I hold in storage and sending them back to their copyright owners. I feel free.

I am then going to get drunk. All job offers greatly recieved.

Hope you get something sorted out soon. The Great British Public has never been the brightest thing on the planet, mind you they are streets ahead of the US public if that's any consolation.

What ever you end up with you will still be Wet Blobby to us

Good luck mate.

Blobs, poppet, I have been trying to recruit an office junior for my team. I work with 5 ladies who need constant cups of tea, trips to BK in the mornings and Woolies in the afternoon for chocolate. We occasionally shop at lunchtimes, so you would be required to carry shopping bags. We also require escorting to our cars these dark winter evenings. You will be responsible for looking after our administrative needs also.

There is little pay I am afraid, although you may occasionally be taken into the deeds cupboard.

Please let me know if this takes your fancy.

Investigation / Surveillance work any good for you mate? Shit pay, long hours, crap conditions and you will have to move to Scotland .................... on the plus side, I had the joy of watching a dodgy ex-RAF bloke pumping the shit out of his Mrs on my last surveillance job!! A good dit that one, but its for PM's only!! :thumright:

I'm still looking myself, if I get that managing directors job I fancy you'll be my first employee. Don't get your hopes up though :dwarf:

PS. I'm going to get drunk too :thumright:
