Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hi guys im keen to know what your favourite ship is or has been to serve on and why?
    Thanks
    :)

  2. Lusty all the way

Why? Invince was a shithole, Ark smelt of polish and paint. Lusty was a happy medium

    And not this happy medium!

  4. Whats the difference between Invince and a hedgehog????

My best ship ... Manchester. Happiest ship I was ever on ... and yes for a Doc I did go to sea not just on the IOW ferry!

  9. Nottingham 00-03 without a shadow of doubt although every ship I've had (even the 23') has been pretty good.

  10. Turbulent without a doubt...96 through to early 99. Seriously good crew, for a seriously professional business.

  12. Pick a Type 21 - 5 drafts to 4 of 'em, all great.
Active twice so that's the winner.

This has been done before...mine was HMS Cavalier 57-59. My first time in the Far East. An H bomb test and runs ashore at so many wonderful places that I'll never forget. Can I go back and do it all again please ? lol

  18. Was good 82-84 although some good times to 85, Cleared off for 3 months leave to Oz.

  19. Same here for 21s.
You got me beat mind you. Just the 3 for myself.
    Active, Amazon and Alacrity.

Would have to vote for Alacrity as the best draft. As a PO Chippie it was the dogs. Great mess great runs ashore.
Plus less shit as a SR.

  20. Was pretty good on Global 86 once we had a change of skipper.
The first was a real short assed Napoleon complex tosser.

    Ellis iirc.
