Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Fair winds indeed.

Hmm, you lot get the Chief of Defence Staff seeing you off with worthy praise. We get some Family hanging off a rock with a banner if we're lucky :)
    Tells a story, that does!
  2. our CDS probably needs directions to Plymouth, its awful long way from PJHQ you know.
  3. Here's the local rag's version... http://www.thechronicleherald.ca/Front/1050905.html (got some warm fuzzies over the local comments)

As well, we've started including parents in the "news tree" when the units/ships go out. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/080419/national/military_parents_help

To be honest, I don't ever remember a time when there wasn't a farewell bash when a ship got underway. Some of the more annoying ones were revving up the engines in the Bedford Basin overnight and our families would be lined up along the Basin waving at us going round in big circles.
