failed medical paper review

i have just found out that i have failed a paper review because a few years ago i had issue with my It band on my left leg, where it was getting tight and causing pain however that issue has been rectified which has been confirmed by a physiologist. i have worked for the past two years on strengthening my leg and my full body and physically getting fitter, i believe i am on par with fitness levels as i run 2-3 times a week between doing a mile and a half or half an hour to an hour, i go to the gym two-three times a week for roughly an hour each time. i am planning on appealing the decision, i was just wondering if anyone had any advice or had the same sort of issue

There's nothing to stop you appealing, you'll need to present all documentary evidence though. Contact your AFCO.

I would appeal, from what I hear Capita can be a bit brutal with the medicals and deeming people unfit. Speak to you career office and appeal it, especially if there has been no more issues.

I am currently waiting on my medical to come back from them and totally expect it to be a no, I am just going to appeal either way.

Currently I am waiting for review by senior medical examiner is the fact that although have been classed medically unfit but has gone to review mean it’s a very close call or original doctor wasn’t 100% on right call

The first medical review which you have had can be viewed as a screening exercise. Obvious failures are deemed PMU but others that a classed TMU will be passed to the Senior medical Officer for the final appraisal. This can also happen if the applicant has appealed the original classification.
If you require further clarification the advice is(as always) ask your AFCO
