Oh yes.Excellent info! That's a nice sum after training. I'm under no illusions though, I'll expect to have to earn it! Thanks for that.
Had a few pay rises since I left!!!!!!Yes to flying pay, or RRP(F) recruitment and retention pay, flying, if we use the official title. ACMN ASW and Cdo are also on Supp 3 which is on the table below if that helps you understand the complete pay picture. I'm not certain on when you are eligible for RRP(F) so I'll find out the latest. What I can say though is expect to be a Petty Officer(Acting) on Supp 3 with the initial rate of RRP(F) 2 and a half years after joining Raleigh and having completed flying training and joined a front line SQN.

If my sums are right, that works out at £39996.90. The price of a Big Mac £ off of 40k.

In a nutshell, yes.Can anyone clarify what the Acting part of Petty Officer (Acting) means? Is it until you've passed all the leadership training required for a Petty Officer? Thanks
I assume it includes CoC, (Certificate of Competence), if not acquired at an early point??In a nutshell, yes.
Silly Question time!
Aircrewman looks like one hell of a job, had I have age on my side this is what I would've applied for. I believe the upper age limit is 26. Here's the silly question....
Once I'm in and completed training etc even though I exceed the age limit can I still request a transfer to this role?
Doubtful.
There may be allowances made, but in general, the RN can prove a direct relation between age and likelihood of passing the course. The older you are, the less likely to pass.
I was an aircrewman that passed out over the max age. (Only by a few months). I seriously wished I had completed the course when I first applied in my early 20's. It was extremely challenging.Silly Question time!

I notice on a previous thread you are looking at AET. A very worth while trade. My first 12 years in the RN was as a NAM/LAM, thats AET in very old money. The branch then morphed into AEM and is currently AET.
Good luck, FAA is an excellent choice of career path, whatever trade you have chosen.
If its combat you want - join the marines or the Army.Yes I've applied to join as AET and I'm currently in the process of joining. I am very excited and can't wait to finally get to Raleigh.
AET looks like an excellent trade, the only thing that I feel it's lacking (for me at least) is the lack of combat.
