I wonder if anyone can remember the words to a very funny ballad about trainee pilots in the days when the Sea Vixen was the AWF of choice? It was called An Ode to 766" It went, as best I can remember, something like this: "Picture if you can a Vixen rushing through the starry skies, Picture too the intrepid pilot, peering through his bloodshot eyes. Long ago he joined the Service, said he'd like to learn to fly, Thought it meant some easy money, rich retirement bye and bye. Thought as well of babes and popsies and the glamour of those wings Of visits to exotic places, parties, dances and other things..........." It goes on and on and is very funny and witty. Anyone help?
