Eyesight for writer

Hello everyone iv applied to join the RN as a writer, and was just wondering if anyone knows what the eyesight requirement is for this role as I can’t find it anywhere I have my selection interview soon and see that part of my medical includes a eye test

Try JSP 950 leaflet 6-7-7

Section 4 I believe is pre entry requirements (medical).

As far as the strabismus, it’ll depend on the severity, whether you’ve had corrective surgery etc.

At the end of the day that’ll be a decision for the Medical Officer to make but there is no harm in arming yourself with some info prior to your phonecall to the AFCO Monday!

The Navy has a penchant for nick-names! Stand by to be called Uzi, as in 'who's he looking at.'

I had a No 2 for some time with the same problem and that was his nick-name.

Iv emailed my AFCO and they are out of the office till January but my left eye is a +6 -190 and it’s a stigmatisum in my right eye I have had surgery on this eye when I was a child
