Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. "...........The project will include the overhaul of the vessels' engines and an upgrade of crew accommodation".

haha that sounds about right. . . the accom was good enough whilst it was in RN service, but it has to be upgraded before transfer to the Pakistani Navy.

  2. Originally of a class of eight - But only two were ever built...... Does that sound familiar to anyone?

  3. Didn't even realise it had been sold off.

I remember doing an exercise with it before it was handed over to the RN.

God I'm old!!!!!! Pass me some pills!!!! I'm depressed now.

  4. Sold to the Pakistanis, eh. The fresh water system did look like it had been plumbed in by an Indian, though.

Matt, do you read this stuff? :D

Where does the article say anything about the Pakistani Navy?

    Does anybody?

As for the accommodation upgrade, WTF not? Accommodation is never good enough, it is a thirty year old spec and the new owners (not the Pakistani Navy) appear to be paying for it. Sale, not transfer.

    Harumph.

  6. Great headline!!! Not!!!

Why call it HMS and add more fuel to the fire?

  7. Perhaps function momentarily lapsed back to East Pakistan; easily done.

You're the Mod; you tell us.

  8. The headline acutely says (as above) 'Ex-HMS' which it is, so the headline is factual.

What fuel to the fire are you referring to???

Does anybody actually read this stuff. It reminds me of one of the quotes by Sherlock Holmes ' we look but we don't see' ! 8)

  9. Surely "New Bangladeshi Navy ship gets rescued" would be a better start?

Last thing we want is more F*ck Ups being blamed on us? Funny how the other services seem to get away with it.
