  1. Can I please use this page to inform any who might have known John Ashby - last job Chief of the Workshops at Dolphin - who served on Bramble, Ambush, Andrew, Artemis, Artful, Excalibur, Explorer, Narwhal and Opossum died last Saturday at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, shortly after being diagnosed with lung cancer. John was 74 and had been suffering from dementia for a year or so. His funeral will be at 1415, Mon 22 Dec 08 at Portchester Crematorium. Any old colleagues who wish to attend will be welcome.
  2. May John's God be with him on his Last Patrol.

Still in hot and sunny Noosa Heads, Oz.
  3. Condolences to John's family.
I didn't personally come across John during my time in boats, but as a Submariner, that makes him family.
    Rest in peace Chief.
