I want to be an ETME and currently have a friend helping me out with trigonometry, calculus and polynomials. However Im unsure if there will be any more or less mathematics to engineering on a ship. So at HMS Sultan will they teach us from scratch with additional mathematics or would the mathematics be the same?

Entry level maths starts at about GCSE level for ET(ME) and you will be taught up to the required level during branch training and during subsequent career development courses.

Day to day, particularly with modern technology, the number of times you actually have to use basic arithmetic in the course of your duties can be counted on the six fingers of one hand. Innit.
