Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

  1. So, after two 3-0 wins it all looks very different, and although the real test is against the Russians next weds, it would be nice to meet them 5 points in the clear. Question is with Dean Ashton and Andy Johnson both out, who to call up next? Defoe, Bent, Nugent? Will Walcott get another look?

  2. John Terry is out with a knee tweak. Ah well, he's on a card so I suppose its for the best. Might still be fit for Weds though. Not sure why they called up Smiffy when he's not fit, ditto Johnson, still listed as called up but withdrawn already.

England squad: Robinson (Tottenham), James (Portsmouth), Carson (Aston Villa), Richards (Manchester City), Brown (Manchester United), Ferdinand (Manchester United), Terry (Chelsea), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Campbell (Portsmouth), Neville (Everton), Shorey (Reading), Lescott (Everton), Bentley (Blackburn), Gerrard (Liverpool), Lampard (Chelsea), Joe Cole (Chelsea), Wright-Phillips (Chelsea), Barry (Aston Villa), Downing (Middlesbrough), Young (Aston Villa), Smith (Newcastle), Owen (Newcastle), Crouch (Liverpool), Johnson (Everton), Defoe (Tottenham), Rooney (Manchester United)

  3. mmmmkay so a 3-0 win but what a strange second half. Could have been 5-0, and Fwank got some abuse when he came on. Deserved?? I don't think so as he hadn't yet kicked (or miskicked) a ball. As he's performed well for club but been so dire for England, at the the big tournaments especially, you'd think hes due a good game sooner or later. Lescott was a bit of a plonker as well, hopefully the upped tempo against the Ruskies will bring his game out of him more.
