    [FONT=&quot]Your responsibilities would entail managing an engineering team, carrying out electrical / electromechanical design work, support activities and small scale production for Defence Customers, mainly MoD.[/FONT]

    [FONT=&quot]1. To source, evaluate and acquire relevant contracts from the MOD and prime contractors,[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]consistent with the Company’s requirements, expertise and capability, and in accordance with the predetermined levels of revenue and profitability.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]2. Effectively and efficiently manage the labour and associated resources of the Department in order to meet the budgeted levels of revenue and profit consistent with the Company’s QA standards.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]3. Prepare technical and commercial proposals addressing customer requirements, including[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]innovative and unsolicited proposals in order to develop and increase the Department’s activities.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]4. Generate annual budgets identifying order and sales expectations, detailing sales revenue, profit, expenditure, staffing requirements in agreement with the Managing Director.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]5. From time to time compile and generate business plans and market analysis to submit to the[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]Managing Director with recommendations demonstrating the overall direction and areas of activity that the Department is undertaking, and specifying future potential contracts that may be[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]6. Manage and effectively monitor levels of risk to the business,[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]7. Attend management, technical, and project meetings at DM Systems and at customer sites.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]8. Provide technical advice to MoD customers on an ad hoc basis.[/FONT]

    [FONT=&quot]1. Ensure that all staff have their workload adequately outlined and that contract planning activities are accurately undertaken consistent with critical time frame and resource scheduling techniques.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]2. Effectively communicate and disseminate all relevant information to staff covering all aspects of Company information as and when appropriate.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]3. Ensure that all staff are briefed on HASAW aspects and that appropriate Company fire and[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]security measures are strictly adhered to. Ensure that the Laboratory is maintained to a neat and[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]tidy standard at all times.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]4. Initiates appropriate training as and when required and perform technical selection interviews.[/FONT]

    [FONT=&quot]Engineering Tasks/Projects[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]1. Coordination and progress of all Tasks/Projects.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]2. Ensure master and insurance copies of microfilm and other master material is kept safe, in an[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]orderly fashion and up to date.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]3. Take responsibility for archive material and assist in retrieval of information.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]4. Oversee investigation of CQF’s, Defect Reports, and the creation of all modifications and[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]subsequent revisions to specifications and handbooks.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]5. Ensure Task Files are opened for new tasks and kept in an orderly fashion at all times.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]6. Keep the working copy of contract minutes up to date.[/FONT]

    [FONT=&quot]1. Responsible to the Managing Director.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]2. As PDSO be responsible to the MOD PDS Project Management Branch for the necessary coordination of all activities, as an extension of the PDS Project Management Branch within the[/FONT]

    [FONT=&quot]3. Supervision of engineers and draughtsmen.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]4. Liaison with Quality Assurance.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]5. Direct communication with various Ministry of Defence personnel.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]6. Direct communication with other customers.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]7. Liaison with outside suppliers.[/FONT]

    [FONT=&quot]Degree or equivalent in an electrical engineering discipline.[/FONT]
    [FONT=&quot]Membership of relevant professional institution highly desirable.[/FONT]

    [FONT=&quot]At least 10 years experience in electrical support/design engineering on MoD related work with an in depth knowledge of MoD engineering and contractual procedures.[/FONT]
