The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Grampian NHS has cancelled Easter for fear of upsetting the Ethnic Minoroties, although even the Muslim Council is against this, they, the NHS refuse to back down, is no-one concerned about upsetting the Majority? If you object to Ramadan on the grounds that this upsets you, are you branded rascist?.
  2. Has anybody told the "EASTER BUNNY" does this mean no more chocolate eggs!!!!!!
  3. You sure yer allowed to say "chocolate"

Andy, I think you have missed the point! It's not other races or religions who are asking for this it's the idiots who think they know what those people want. This happened in Peterborough 2 years ago, the council changed the name of the Christmas lighting ceremony to The Lighting Festival so as not to offend all the other religious groups. None of the other groups were offended! in fact it was the local Muslim council and a Seikh Councillor who pushed for it to be renamed the Christmas Lighting Ceremony this year, which it was. We have people in positions of influence within Government, local government and organisations who are either just very thick or deliberately being inflammatory, I personally suspect the latter!!!!

Edited to add: I don't think they actually can cancel Easter Hig! It is a National Bank Holiday, do you have a link to this story?
  8. Sorry Chief, was just a red mist moment!also dont you think that the 2 Mosques have buggered up the Skyline of Peterborough????

I think it makes them look very multi-cultural, thank God I don't live there to have to listen to them though
  10. Totally agree Chieftiff. I know a few Moslems (in the forces), Hebrews and Hindus and not one can see the problem with Christmas, Easter etc. In fact they are all for it since both Jews and Moslems acknowledge that Jesus was an important figure - the Qu'ran mentions him quite a bit.

The people objecting are the chattering, middle-class, champagne socialists who think it's oh so right-on to be PC and to help the poor minorities, since they possess that patronising attitude that others can't look after themselves.

Oh, and while we're at it, they tend to be the same people who campaign to close Grant Maintained Schools whils sending theirs to private schools, object to people buying council houses, yet own their own house, cry out loud when residents object to Pikies etc etc etc.

Rant over! Got a bit carried away there!

If you oppose Ramadan then no, that does not make you a racist necessarily, do you? if so why? In what way does Ramadan effect you? If you oppose Ramadan just because you think people of another religion should not fast during daylight hours in accordance with their religious views then you are opinionated and nothing more, if however you try to prevent Ramadan because you don't like it then you are a biggot and possibly a racist.

My point is this, who has decided to 'ban' Easter, I would suggest it is some over zealous, under(possibly over) educated, over liberal manager more interested in advancing his/ her own position than considering the practitioners of another faith.
  16. Its not racist to object to "alien" religions. As far as i recollect followers of Islam are not a race.
