Drill Instructing

Hi Guys,
So I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to make drill more, dare I say it, enjoyable, or at least less monotonous, while at the same time improving the (at times) shambolic drill of my section?

Movements on the march as any pompey DQ's 'visiter' would agree was anything but monotonous , from shoulder arms to general salute , back to shoulder , change arms , slope , back to shoulder and repeat. Only one command given....BTLQM , being over six foot tall I was right hand marker so the squad followed me round and round the parade ground so I had to get all the sequence correct , pausing between each move with a 2.3.
Did I mention I loved doing drill.:)

Get some recordings of RM Bands playing marches and conduct the drill sessions to the music. It does make it easier, honest.

"4 stroke piston engine" can be good for a laugh if you want to lighten the mood.
Get the troops to take turns taking charge.

Show them the passing out parade drill session in the Bill Murray movie "Stripes" and see if they can emulate that, good for a giggle if nothing else.
