Drakes Island?

Hello first post, Can some one tell me who now owns Drakes Island and why is such a prime site like that being left to ruin when it could be used for Adventure traing for Sea Cadets ACF etc

Why not start a campaign to get it back off him ? Or write to him and ask if he wouldn't mind letting the cadets defend it against further attacks.

Don't forget the MOD rent space from the current owner due to the mast that is on display

Thats(allegedly) one of the reasons that the current owner is in no hurry to develop the site. There are even completley unfounded rumours that the rental for the mast was increased as soon as the lease was signed! The fate of Drakes Island isomething of a cause celebre amongst Pymothians, and IIRC there is at least one website/discussion board devoted to it.

Me too. I was there around April 77 and had a great laugh on the place. Hard work tidying up though, but still had plenty of fun with the instructors.
