Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. hey just a quick question I've spoke to some people about transferring to the diving branch and they said it's better than going in as a direct entry due to the fact that most sideways entrants have a more understanding of the service. What do you think is better direct or sideways entry?
  2. Branch changing once you join is not guaranteed.
  3. agreed with the guy above, it's not guaranteed, if you want to be a diver, join as a diver.
  4. I would say direct entry as if you go in sideways entry your mask may come off.
