Cricket in the Navy

Hi all,

I’m a keen cricketer and hoping to join the Royal Navy in the near future,just had a couple of questions. What’s the standard like?
How are teams picked?Trials?
What teams are there?Based on ship/base?
Who do they play?Inter Navy?Inter forces?Other nation’s forces?
I’m assuming not to expect much playing time when on deployment?

The best port of call for initial enquiries about sport in the Royal Navy is probably a page on Facebook called NAVYfit, MJ. Have a look for that - you will be able to message the people who run it and ask them how best to make contact with the Royal Navy Cricket Club.
