  1. Hi all,

I know this has been done to death, but since the changes to the BRNC course, (now the 3 phases instead of 2) I just thought I would check to make sure I have the right info for my sift interview!

So I am applying for a warfare officer (surface):

    Three 10 weeks phases:
    · Militarisation - BLD: Basic Leadership Development, ABLE: Assessed Basic Leadership Exercise
    · Marinisation - MLD: Maritime Leadership Development, MARL: Maritime Leadership,
    · Initial Fleet Time (IFT) – (9 weeks, 1 week for passing out parade)

    · 14 weeks at BRNC – (Initial Warfare Officer Foundation Course)
    · 4 weeks at HMS Collingwood – (Warfare Officer’s Navigation Course)
    · Specialist Fleet Time (SFT) – (6-9 months on a surface vessel gaining bridge experience)
    · 4 months at HMS Collingwood – (Initial Warfare Officer Course)
    · Join a ship? As Officer of Watch?

Just to re-iterate.. I'm not asking for people to tell me the phases because I managed to take the initiative and find it out myself!! (Unlike some people on here!) Just if this is up-to date, as I got different bits from different sources.

    Any replies would be appreciated!

Yet you've still had to make a post and ask?
  3. Well yeah otherwise I have no way of knowing whether the info is 100% accurate!
  4. How about picking the phone up and asking your lovely careers adviser who will be able to tell you if the infomation is upto date. The conversation might go a little like this:

you - Hello CA, it's potential officer cadet Smith. How are the pigeons? (CA love pigeons apparently)
CA - Hello Smith, the pideons are great. what can I do for you today?
you - I just wanted to know if XYZ is current uptodate info
CA - Yes it is/no its not
    you - Cheers guuvna

or is that asking to much of a potential officer cadet?
  5. You certainly don't know if what you are told on here is true or accurate. I lie all the time. Apart from now, but I might be lying.
