Corona Virus

This one's from a Police Officer

Yesterday was certainly an experience that I found appalling.

I was assisting other agencies in a search for a missing child on The beach.
Whilst driving along a crowded promenade behind an unmarked police car, I was met by crowds of people.
I did not expect to come across a group of young men, chanting, spitting and kicking out at me in my response car. Utterly disgusting behaviour for anyone to experience.

Moments later whilst travelling across pier approach with my blue lights illuminated, I was stopped by a member of the public (who I assumed was flagging me down as he was expecting an ambulance) to be asked where the nearest OPEN toilet was and where they could go for a bite to eat?!!!!! Have people not been watching the news lately?!
Yesterday was certainly a much busier day than it has been of late. In Dorset, much further west of Bournemouth, South Western Ambulance Service were assisted by the coastguard with 3/4 casualties who had been injured after jumping from Durdle Door into the sea. Also tasked were Lulworth First Responders Kimmeridge Coastguard, Weymouth Lifeboat, Dorset Police, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and Coastguard Rescue 175.
Today there has been traffic heading south towards Bournemouth stretching back as far as junction 2 of the M27. So it looks as though the local roads and public places will be just as busy again.
The beach has had thousands of people on it, which are not currently patrolled.
Please remember that we are still in the pandemic although things have eased and figures have fallen. We are still supposed to be keeping to the 2m social distance rule.
Stay safe everyone.

When statistics are shown on TV regarding the vulnerability of various age groups anyone under 50 is regarded as low risk and even if they do get it it is unlikely to strike them down unless they have an underlying health problem. If you then add in the information that the virus does not transmit as well outdoors and even less so in hot weather many folk take the view that they will take a chance much like any other day when you step outside the front door.
If anyone imagined everyone was going to remain closeted indoors after weeks of lockdown are either dim or extremely optimistic when the sun is out and the weather good.
I'm not seeking to excuse moronic behavior, crass stupidity and complete disregard for one's own safety but I can see why it might occur.

Family friend of ours and her daughter are both Mental trained nurses who have been seconded to Covid ICU, one of them posted this written by a collogue, not a good life being an NHS professional at the moment. I have removed the authors name and photos she posted with face mask marks imbedded into her face.

I’ve worked so many hours this week....most mornings I leave my house at 6:20am and arrive home at 22:40. I don’t see my daughter for days and when I do I am ph...ysically and emotionally exhausted.
I worked 13 hours in intensive care on Friday with a total of 45 minutes break. I didn’t want to leave my patient’s side because I knew if I did it may result in death.
It was the most challenging shift I have had in my 7 years of nursing. My COVID positive patient was the sickest patient I have ever had to manage. The patient was young, a healthcare professional and incredibly unstable. There was absolutely no reason why she had become so sick?
During the ward round I was so hot in my PPE that I thought I was going to faint. My eyes felt funny and my legs felt like jelly ... luckily with all the will power I had I held myself together and overcame this. This is a normal feeling for us red zone staff in ICU- it’s like being in a sauna for hours and hours.
Multiple times through the shift I felt defeated, frustrated, sad, completely overwhelmed and like I was living in a nightmare. Again it took all my strength to hold myself together and hold back the tears, although at time’s the tears did escape....Not that anyone would even notice through the visor.
You can not loose concentration, you must remain on top form... you cannot stop because of emotions ...this is a life you have in your hands! Thank god for the sense of unity and love all the NHS staff have for eachother. The support is indescribable.
But ...what really upset me and all my colleagues that day was as we looked out of the windows of ICU (the COVID war zone) we saw groups of people in the park. They were sunbathing, drinking and meeting in large groups. Its hard not to take it personally and feel like all our efforts are unappreciated. We said “can they not see us up here?”. This was the realisation that people are already not listening to the rules and now lockdown is softened it will only get worse.
As I put all my efforts into saving your family and your friends there are people out there not even bothering to social distance.
Yes you may clap for the NHS and this does not apply to everyone. We do appreciate it but what we do not appreciate is the clap to our face and the knife in our backs when you wave us off to work.
Us NHS staff are extremely worried what will happen next. We expect another peak ! How much longer can we go on like this? How many more people can we watch die a terrible death? How many people can we turn away for our specialised care? How many soul destroying cries can we hear? How many years will I see the faces of my patients who have died and the rows upon rows of COVID patients all fighting for their lives? How many years will I hear the cries in my head before I go to sleep of the families over Skype saying goodbye to their family member ?
We can only take so much ... we are not heroes, we have no special super powers to deal with this ...we are humans, we are professionals of the NHS. If we fall who will look after you then?
Please everyone be clever, this is still very much reality. Don’t let our trauma be for nothing. Let’s stick together and keep the control over this virus.
(This post is all my own personal views and it is not for sympathy or the views of my trust).

They really don't want to let it go do they?

That's what happens when the privileged elite rub the public's noses in it by blatantly disregarding the rules and spinning the story with a tissue of half-truths and bullshit.

Stick your head above the parapet and prepare to get it shot off.

Next up, Barry Gardiner

Also when your part of the rule inventor process, so know loop hole to use, not ethically ok, but just not illegal enough to get nobbled by the law.
Its like the companies that try not to do the right thing by hiding behind a loop hole, not nice, but sod all you can do

Statistics(yep them again) suggest that BAME people are more likely to die from Covid19 than their fair skinned peers. Is this blatant racism on behalf of the virus and should it have been foreseen and therefore steps taken to protect the BAME people?
Along with the litany of other factors that have been claimed during the very recent unrest this one I find is the hardest to accept.
When Coronavirus arrived on the scene it was largely an unknown quantity and I think we were about a month into the crisis before the penny dropped and the death rate featured more BAMEs as a percentage than they represent in the overall population. By then we were at the peak of the crisis and what's more we had no idea why BAME were adversely affected.
Were all the scientists, virologists and the government at fault in not acting to try and prevent more deaths and does this render them all racist?
I don't think so but you can all make your own minds up.

Apparently we all have a bit of the old racist in us, should I feel bad for laughing at this back in the 1990’s ? And laughing at it now, 25 years later ?

The government did, they said socially seperate, so they all went on mass marches, go figure?
