I have survived everything my granddaughter has thrown at me. A little virus is a breeze!
A non event in my house when you have a she-devil that worked at Porton Down in a previous existence!!!

Copied from the interweb - not my dit!

I don’t usually do this...but I am going to stick my oar in to the Corona Virus ‘issue’.

So far this is what has happened worldwide:

90,000(ish) people have contracted the virus out of 6.5 billion people.

3,000(ish) of those people have died - nearly all of whom were very old/frail/ill before they caught the virus. Roughly 3%.

48,000(ish) people have recovered fully.

40,000(ish) people are recovering currently.

Those are the stats and the world is going MAD!!!!!!

Meanwhile, in the real world...

750 MILLION people are overweight (including 62% of the UK adult population)

300 MILLION people are obese (including 25% of the UK adult population)

415 MILLION people are diabetic (including 3.5 million in the UK)

20% of ALL deaths are linked to being overweight/obesity!!!!

Not THAT is a pandemic!!!!

Why is nobody panicking and desperately trying to cure themselves?

Why is there not uproar that 100 MILLION children worldwide are obese??

Yet everyone is far more worried about something far less dangerous than the common cold!!

The world is going MAD and too many people have their priorities all wrong

Rant over

FLU.....
-
"The average number of deaths in England for the last five seasons, 2014/15 to 2018/19, was 17,000 deaths annually.

"This ranged from 1,692 deaths last season, 2018/19, to 28,330 deaths in 2014/15."

Since October, more than 4,000 people with confirmed flu have been admitted to hospitals in England with at least 70 deaths.

I'm more amazed that people seem to think this 'washing hands with soap and water' business is a new concept!

Although it does give supermarkets an excuse to whack the price of Antibacterial sanitisers and wipes up by 400%

Corona Virus?? oh so yesterday.

Get ye woke; for today 'tis descript as Covid-19, or Co-Nineteenies for short.

(With all this flu about Bob reckons that the overhead at the Cuckoo's Nest must have exceeded the singular...)

In the paper and on the TV today there are pictures of empty shelves in supermarkets from muppets stockpiling stuff - WTF?

We already have loads of stuff in the cupboards - might have to check the 'sell by' dates though! Worst case scenario we might have to use some of the free newspapers as 'toilet tissue'! Now THAT would be a problem as we have a cess-pit.Yep, cess-pit, not even as high brow as a sceptic tank! The bugs wouldn't like it.

Local shops, bog rolls, pain killers and anything to do with cleaning, all gone. Just a question, does antibacterial cleaners kill viruses? Most probably don't know its the strong alcohol content that's needed.

I'm moving in to my local, which if you think about it must be the safest place to congregate.
