Community Pubs.

My local up here is a co-operative pub. Basically the village pub was in decline, no one was going anymore and it closed. Everyone bought shares in the pub at 500 quid a pop, the whole village turned out and rebuilt the place, painting/decorating and what not.

David Cameron even came up here to open it.

Now it's very very good, people won't let it die, because they built the place with their own money and their own hands. The shares have increased in value a bit and the pub makes a tidy profit.
