commando dagger

Hi I was wondering if the RM still got issued the Commando Dagger these days or is it no longer a tradition to recieve your dagger on pass out day.

You used to be able to but them in the shop at CTC with a chit from your training team. Mine was on the rubbery side anyway so wasn't much kop at dispatching the fuzzy wuzzies!!

You can still buy them at CTC if your a trained rank, but as for caryying them i don't know of anyone.

They are still available from the store to anyone who can get their AO to sign off on one (tends to be for respected ranks leaving the unit) and also on free issue to any SB lads.

I served in the 80's. I never, ever saw these issued. They were only available as ornaments from the PRI shop.

Nods got issued Pussers clasp knives and trained rankds could carry what ever knife they wanted.
