Not at all, Sumo, I'm sure they will feel greatly honoured to be specially selected to play such a key role in the defence oif the nation. Now, chaps, please set about posting your designs for the Olympic Gosport Ferry Medal.

Is nothing sacred? ok same thing across pneumonia bridge
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news (again) but pneumonia bridge has also long gone - much longer than the G&D! There is a new bridge, with traffic lights - yes - they built one that cars can use! So while scurrying along with a carefully rolled up and anally inserted burning news-paper, you'll also be dodging traffic, either from in front or behind, but at least not in both directions at once!!

Is the Victory still in the Dockyard ?
No, she's in AMP in Guzz prior to deploying. As soon as they can find some coal, Warrior will slip and proceed in support.

The best bit is they're being crewed by Sea Cadets and such like who think they're going on a training trip...if only they knew =D

Dolphin gone, the G&D gone, cars on Pneumonia bridge and Gods own to be banished to the wastelands of the Picts, who'd have thought it.
More like Dolphin re located

HMS Dolphin closed as a submarine base on 30 September 1998, although the last RN submarine permanently based at Gosport was HMS Ursula which had left 4 years earlier in 1994. The Royal Navy Submarine School (RNSMS) remained at Dolphin until 23 December 1999 when it closed prior to relocation to HMS Raleigh. The RNSMS staff marched into HMS Raleigh and were welcomed onboard by Commodore Lockwood on 31 January 2000. The RNSMS is located in the Dolphin and Astute blocks at Raleigh, although the Submarine Escape Training Tower (SETT), remains at the same site, now renamed Fort Blockhouse
