Colour perception in medical

Hiya lads hope you're all doing well during lockdown 2, got a tricky one for you lot. I've got my date set for 1st March as Warfare Specialist, everything's sorted and I had my face to face medical yesterday, passed everything but then the bloke shown me the dreaded ishihara test and only just failed 3 of the green/yellow (partly as he was waving it about for 2 secs then turning the page and repeating) not being funny he was also quite happily banging and bashing about and chucking all his work about when I was doing the hearing test which I could hear every bit of him doing so. he then said I was unfit for service and I'll need to do a matched wires test at the AFCO which I'll know I'll pass and I've heard about the lantern test being used after the matched wires test being spoke about on this site so I've done many lantern and colour IQ tests online and passed them all but failed 2-3 of ten number patterns on ishihara online tests so I know it's not too bad, any ideas of what will happen would I have to change branch with me only failing the ishihara cos I know I'll be able to pass matched wires and the lantern, just worried as it's only 100 days till I'm off down to Raleigh and if I have to change branch what other good options would you lot recommend with a good career path and travel opportunity as I was really gutted when I heard the doc say this thinking I might not get the job I want, hope this questions answerable, cheers boys ! Much appreciated

I was ME branch (although WE for the first 7 years, ME for the subsequent 26 years). It's slightly different these days depending if you get Accelerated Advancement or ordinary ET (ME) but all your professional training is done at HMS Sultan.

All 3 engineering branches gain good transferable skills in civvy street.

Do they do a face to face medical during the lockdown? Do they give you a date after the triage?

@Core you get an entry after your medical records have been checked by your doctors and then you get a date and yeah they are still doing face to face Medicals during lockdown, you get your 1to1 medical after you get your date which honestly don't make no sense as what if something goes wrong in your medical and you have to change your circumstances, bit of a mindfxck if you ask me

When do they request your medical history from the surgery? Before Raleigh or within 56 days after you've joined? Do I have to go to my GP and get a note that they don't have any medical concerns and I'm fit to join and take it to Raleigh?

They’ll more than likely request information from your GP surgery after your triage call, at the end of which you’ll be declared either TMU or PMU, thats temporarily or permanently medically unfit respectively. F2F medicals are happening after you get a start date at the moment, at least that’s my situation, followed by the fitness test and security clearance. Good luck with that bit, I was made TMU and it took about two months for all that to get sorted.
