Hi guys! Im TMU awaiting a Holmes-Wright lantarn test. I was told there are many roles in the RN where you can be cp4. I was wondering if anyone knew what these were. I wish to be a mine warefare specialist and need a cp3 in order to continue on to next stage. So I am hoping there is a decent plan B for me, I case the worst happens ;)

Thank you for getting back to me. I was told by doc that I should get cp3, but the thought of not is worrying. As long as I have options I'm happy! Fingers crossed..

Thanks again

i am also cp4 .. i joined as a steward and transferred to WE, there is many choices you can do, but unfortunately warefare (and spec) is not one you could do as cp4

Cheers for reply, as long as I hav options if I turn out to be cp4 then least it's not the end for me. I'm hoping for cp3 but hey I can't do much about it can I....it's important to me to get in so I would consider any role which is avaible.

How was the role of steward, how long was you in it before you transferred

From memory, CP1 Martin Holmes, CP2 Isihara (the book with hidden numbers), CP3 Martin Holmes on higher (i.e. brighter) setting and CP4 Trade Test (identifying different coloured electrical wire).

Yep, it's:
CP1 Holmes Wright Lantern Test
CP2 Ishihara Test (Coloured dots)
CP3 Holmes Wright Lantern Test
CP4 can be determined by Ishihara or Wire Trade test or Colour Expanse test.

Until recently, the ishihara was only used for CP2.

erm to be honest i hated it, it was like slavery to unappreciated officers with no clue, boring mundane job cleaning cabins and bathrooms and serving officers, everone looks down at you aswell at that job and your never get appreciated for anything you do, so i woulnt join as one,

personally if your after a pretty cheese easy job in the RN id reccomend a writer or stores.
