Not just old news, positively pre-historic. All being reverted back to Mk 2 standard now.

I was told however that part of the blame does lie with Boeing as they advertised a certain configuration of the cockpit and had never tested themselves as apparently they never thought anyone would chose as it was crap. Guess which one the MoD chose? Could be bar talk of course!

Sort of, part of the 'problem' is that they test their gear to a lower standard of proof on safety as they regard it as 'warry' stuff, no a commercial airliner flying fare paying passengers that has to be proven 101% safe.

There was actually not wrong per se with the software, it wasn't Boeings top stuff, but it worked, it's just Boeing couldn't guarantee it would be 100% with the hybrid cock up we'd put together and MOD had a wah.
