Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I am writing to the forum in order to find out more about my father's service record. I have his service record from the war and would very much like to come into contact with any of you who served with him or knew of him. He was assigned to the Duke of York and saw action in the Arctic convoys, he was later assigned to the King George V and then the Emerald on which he saw action during D-Day. The year before he passed away he attended a lunch for old shipmates of the Emerald at the Admirality. He was so happy he attended.
I know he knew Captain Jermain and was a personal friend of Admiral Frewen and I was wondering whether they got to know each ther on the Arctic convoys.
He told me a lot about his experiences of the war and I am very proud to have had such a father. He is greatly missed by us all.
    He passed away in 2000.
