Cannot believe this - The WORST thing to possibly happen!

Hi lads!

As some of you know I've got to attend the informal presentation tomorrow!

Well last night before settling in for bed I felt a bit throaty!

So I got an extra quilt and lay it over me to sweat out this fever!

I've woke up this morning and I've never had flu this bad! This is the first time I've ever vomited from it! My head is spinning, my hands are shaking like a leaf and I feel like a shoddily-cooked fish-finger... boiling on the outside, frozen on the inside!

I'm thinking to just push through it all and go over to get my haircut and clothes/shoes and attend tomorrow! The other side of me is thinking that by tomorrow I'll probably not be able to walk! I can barely stand now and believe me lads, this is no exaggeration - I really think God has something against me!

The guinea pig in the room is definitely going! I had another chest infection about 1 1/2 months ago! To have another one in this close proximity since the last one definitely points to the little bugger giving me the flu!

What to do lads? I don't wanna turn up and look like a complete pillock, shaking, barely able to stand, etc. But I don't wanna phone up and say I'm not coming because I'm ill! I'll sound like a right lazy, unenthusiastic peasant!

Please help!!!

you can get some very strong cold and flu medicine from the chemist. It will not cure you but you will at least be able to get through the presentation.

Sauna, several gallons of water and a couple of hours...................

I would try and turn up at least...know you feel like death, but they will then make the decision for you (understand/postpone etc
It's an informal presentation and you may be feeling better in the next 24 hours.

I've decided to go anyway lads! My mother's just phoned up for a prescription for anti-biotics! I hate taking them and never usually do! But this is urgent!

I'm gonna get some rest now before going over to get my hair cut and shoes, etc!

After all, I can't let a little flu stand in my quest can I?

I'm sure if there was a massive Naval battle I wouldn't be telling the Admiral I can't do my job because I've got the flu! FIGHT THROUGH IT!!!!! That's what the British Armed forces are all about and why we're the best!!! :twisted:

Also, perhaps they may look on it positively that I turned up feeling like death and made the presentation no matter what!

best thing to do is launch paracemtomol, iburfen, night nurse(day and Night) and drink about 8 pints of water today and just put through it take some non drowsey stuff tomorra before ya go.

it wont take that long the presentation. but you need to be a little bit on the ball like.

Anti-biotics might help but to mask the symptoms, get some cold and flue remedy. Get it today and you will feel better tomorrow. Rest and sleep today, keeping up your fluid intake up.

Do it now, or I will think you have man flu.

LOL, I don't know how to differentiate Man-Flu from regular Flu, but all I know is my head is banging, my throat is in agony, I could sleep about 200 hours, my stomach is aching, I feel sick - I'm gonna pull through though!

My mum's getting the ant-biotics for me and some Lem-sips! I've just walked the dog to get my dose of fresh-air. Will get more later when I go to buy my shoes, hair cut, etc!

And I'm also going to down loads of water!

I'll be okay!

Know how you feel, had a bout of it last month - it is is Flu or any other vira infection - anti-biotics are a waste of time as they do not work on viruses. ANyway hope to get everything sorted for the presentation Good Luck

Real flu is where you cannot lift your head off the pillow.

Had both, but believe me Man Flu is bad it just hit you differently

I agree with this. Get loads of water down your neck as well as the prescribed anti-biotics as soon as possible so that they take effect.
