Can you identify this ship?

Difficult one, could potentially be any captured trawler converted for armed use. I know the pic isn't the one, but it looks a bit like it. Emphasis on "bit" so don't shoot me. Does have similar struts in the middle.

does the original look like it has flak positions on the front/rear? If so, could be a Vorpostenboot (outpost ship)

I've been looking at it, and would say there are positions fwd & aft. That funnel though....weird one to have such a short one in those days

Yup, nearly all, if not all pics I have seen of vessels of similar ilk have taller funnels. Closest I have come is Yugoslavian trawler captured by the Germans in WW1. Rounded bath like superstructure. Can't find the web site again though with the image!!!

Nah, the one I found the Yugoslavian WW1 trawler was an obscure link from an even more obscure search!!! I s'pose I could 'trawl' back through my search history. But I'm kinda losing interest if I'm honest!!!

I did see the Yugoslavian trawler but there's too many variants/local modifications to name the OP 's trawler IMHO.

Agree fully. No different to the Soviet AGI's of yesteryear in a way.

Trouble with warships and war. A welder can change the role and visual profile of any vessel.
Look how we changed some of the merchantmen in 82!! Welding flight decks in place, using containers to make areas to conceal helicopters and harriers in transit!!!!

Long live the welding rod!!
