BUPA Great South Run 2011

This year's BUPA Great South Run is being held in Portsmouth & Southsea on Sunday 30 October. Lt Cdr Al Nekrews and CPO(D) Ian 'Scouse' Fleming of Southern Diving Unit 2 (SDU2) will be running the course in full EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) suits weighing 70lbs to raise funds for the British Limbless Ex-Service Men's Association (BLESMA).

JUST getting round the Great South Run is a challenge for most people. But two navy divers are to make it even harder by competing in full bomb protection gear.

Chief Diver Ian Fleming and Lieutenant Commander Al Nekrews, of Cosham, Portsmouth, will pull on bomb suits weighing 70lbs each to raise money for the British Limbless Ex-Servicemen’s Association.
