BRNC - Why do some pass out as S/Lt or Lt?

From poking about on YouTube and Twitter, it seems that a fair number pass out from BRNC as S/Lt or even Lt. Seniority is no longer given due to being a graduate etc, so why do not all pass out as midshipmen?

UYs & SUYs pass out as SLts (some SUYs as Lts)

Up until very recently DE Cadets that were back-phased retained their seniority, and so were passing out as SLts. That’s now changed and a back-phased Cadet now has their seniority reset to align with the entry they pass out with and so will now pass out as Midshipmen.

Incorrect. The present intake that is going through and are being back phased both through injury and academic are retaining their seniority. The new system starts from the next entry in September, but it looks as if it applies to those on academic back phasing, rather than through injury.

Both irrelevant (the OP asked why some of those who have already passed out were already SLts & Lts) and wrong. Anyone in the current marinisation entry that fails MARL WILL lose their seniority. As they should.
