Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hi,

Is there an age limit to branch change to submariner? I joined as an OM(C) then became CIS then changed to AET and that is what I'm currently doing.

I'm 40 years old now and was wondering if it's not to late to try CIS (SM).

I realise I'd have to re train again but would probably enjoy the refreshing change.

  2. Kin ell, are you a badge collector?

  3. You have through devious & various means managed to eventually become a member of Gods chosen branch and now you wish to leave!.
If you become a smelly submersible creature the Air God will not only disown you but make your feet smell even worse than an Handlers farts, you will be disowned in times of need and banned from ALL activities involving Woos, in short you will be a Non Woo.
Here endeth the first lesson from the book of NAMMS

  6. Ratings can change branches up to and including the age of 73 but it's
worth noting that only the Fleet Air Arm have special toilet facilities
for those with incontinence or uncontrollable bowels. They also have
hoists to get you around and plenty of room for squadrons of mobility
scooters. All new aircraft carriers will be fitted with Stannah Stair Lifts
as well whereas the next generation of submarines will not, and they'll
be crewed by women only anyway.

  7. A group of women kept together over a certain length of time tend to sync their 'wrong'
week , bombers would have to come back into port for one week in every four just in case the skipper got an itchy trigger finger.

  8. At last a general service rating who understands a wafus needs.
