The Bournemouth Air show is on from today until Sunday if anyone is interested, it is free entry. Info from the website: " For 2009 Bournemouth is the regions premier event for the Royal Navy Fly Navy 100 Naval celebrations - with plenty of fantastic interaction, hands on action, displays and demonstrations. Watch out for an incredible line-up of civilian aircraft including: the worldâ€™s only formation wing walking team - Team Guinot, Yakovlevs Aerobatic Team, The Blades Aerobatic Display Team, The Matadors, Spitfire, Mustang, Sally-B, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Eurofighter Typhoon and three displays by the Red Arrows." Royal Navy Not only is the Royal Navy bringing RFA Mounts Bay (which will be open to visitors - free tickets are available from the Navy Village, near the East Cliff Lift from 10 am daily) and HMS Cattistock both moored out in the bay, Black Cats Helicopter Display Team, Royal Marine displays, HM Royal Marines Band and three beach assault displays but they will also be hosting a Royal Navy Village, near the Main Arena. Learn about the forces and what they do with hands-on interaction and a chance to meet service men and women from the Royal Navy. Royal Air Force At the extensive RAF Village area, Pier Approach you can find out about their role with hands on displays, meet the people behind the â€˜Defence Visionâ€™, try out soldiers ration packs, meet RAF Fire Fighters, see the weapons, try on survival gear, have a go in a full scale mock-up Chinook and mock-up Eurofighter Typhoon cockpit. The Army Visit the Army area, located near Pier Approach, where you can not only check out the tanks but actually get inside one and if you think you can do itâ€¦ tackle the assault course!
