Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Little bit dramatic Dan, but fair play good job done.

  2. frogman007, here's one to give yourself a good polishing with.

  3. Pure porn! Come on then Spidiver and NG what do you think it is??.........................

Initially thought yank but without seeing belly band but confused so going British due to the top cover plate.

    Do you know Finks????

  4. It's Mr Blobby being towed by a Cross Channel Ferry.

  5. It's a bit indistinct for a positive ID but judging from its 'clean' condition and the relatively 'recent' look of the colour image, I'll go for an exercise UK Mk17 or M Mk1 moored mine possibly fitted with VMFI bracket on top cover plate.

  6. I took the photo in 72 but I have no idea what it is, it's just something that we pushed off the arse- end of N20, maybe it was something for Tim Trounson RIP to play with.

  7. If it was shoved off the back of Abdiel in 72..my money is either Mk28...or more likely the Mk17 Accoustic...the Mk17 accoustic had the HSS and the flooder on the top cover plate.

    NG....no VMFI basket on TCP.

  8. Mk 17 sounds good ou was I had in mind but again without seeing belly band.....

...I think it's a white transit van illegally parked on the promenade - but I could be mistaken?! :?

You are both wrong, its a money box.

  14. Exactly what he said. The belly band is the big give away. 500lb charge case.

Its a money box, it might have been a bangy thing at some stage but now its a money box

  16. The downfall of many an EOD operator-assuming it's not live!!!

  17. Hmm ... bit worrying ... if we then have to assume it is live ... then the SWAT man laying prone next to it had better hope whoever he's sniping at doesn't decide to snipe back! 500lb charge going off in his left lug will certainly give him a headache!
