  1. Birmingham is a morbid grey hell populated by bad speaking twunts, dropping a nuke on the Bull Ring shopping centre would improve the city ten fold.

I applaud Birmingham City council for discouraging thick Brummie shitcunts from joining up.

So in other words, the RNR is being asked to cover the councils costs, like every other public sector organisation, and isnt being charged full whack. Seems fair to me.

  4. Just a thought - who pays if a military unit exercises it's right to march through the city having been granted the freedom of the city? I understand that HMS FORWARD was granted the honour a few years ago (standing by to be corrected if wrong) and I don't know if they would be expected to pay anything if they exercised that right - would make a damn sight more impact as a recruiting exercise than a booth in the square as well methinks.

You understand correct - it happened in 2004, with the ceremonial casket being received from the Lord Mayor by one, CPO FlagWagger :)

  6. HMS BRISTOL freedom of the city 1982 post South Atlantic really can't remember much more about it except for the young ladies running over and popping their telephone numbers into my No1s top pocket as PO of the Guard. Don't know about recruitment or the cost just took my knob a wee while to recover.

  7. I concur - Escorted by me! :)
  8. I've never been charged by town councils but there are a few shopping centres who try to charge us. There are also a few that are happy to give us a few days a year buck shee too though so we manage.
