Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Good work.
  2. What a guy BZ That man
  3. I bet he left the meter running.
  4. Seaweed

Spent the night in a chair? In a fairer world the hospital (of all places!) would have lashed him up to a bed.
  5. Superb effort that man.
  6. Top chap.
  7. Excellent effort on his part...but am I missing something here?

"Vital blood for cancer patients" - why in a taxi?
  8. I've been a taxi driver for over a year now due to personal circumstances and can honestly say that most of the guys I know wouldn't give a fcuk. But here we are, (and lets face it - most of us have some very conservative views on immigration) a fellow who came to this country and has put into it in more than tax £'s. I hope the authorities give him some sort of recognition for this.
  9. Ballistic,

Taxi's are often used for low priority patent transport and the like but this one has got me flumoxed - I've spoken to some of the other drivers and they have never been asked to transport blood. All I can conclude is that it was a real emergency.
  10. Some Trusts use taxis or the voluntary sector for many of their blood deliveries. I suppose that, if the Blood Service cannot provide, the onus is on the Trust to provide the service.

This driver is an example to us all and well done him!
