Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. The article for some strange reason reminded me of the occasion the Peace Protestors turned up at Gannets main gate to have a go at another military presence other than Faslane.

As soon as the press arrived the skipper had the SAR rescue boards placed at the main gate.

HMS Gannet Home of 819 SAR unit, blah blah.
Umpteen rescues this year to date.
    Umpteen people saved
    And so on.

Protest lasted about another five minutes when they realised they had been out done by the senior service.

The lads and lasses of the SAR unit do a grand job. Hope the government recognises their endeavors in life saving and leaves Gannet SAR alone.
