BBC News: "Two Nimrod UK Spy Planes Reprieved Until June At Least"

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Ha ha ha Cameron.

Suddenly you realise that you do require the Armed Forces after all, at short notice, unexpectedly. What would have happened say in 4 months time when there were to be none left? Go to the EU, NATO and say "sorry chaps, binned all our planes a couple of months ago. You know how it is, cut backs ....Labour Party .....Bankers".

  2. In fairness, the decision to bin R1 was taken by Labour and it's interesting that many in Land and elsewhere have argued that airborne SIGINT was not required.

However, it's fair to say that recent events have driven home to HMG just how critical a sovereign capability like this is! Let's hope that the 3 months extension becomes one of 3 years until RJ arrives and that a few other capability losses/'holidays' get revisited.

    Regards,
    MM

Great news for the crabs, they'll be able to keep 2-3000 staff to support those two planes.

  4. Actually we plan on around 5000.

Most of those will of course be involved in writing further staff papers undermining CVF and recommedning the amalgamation of the RN into a reformed RAF Marine Branch. Additional white fluffy cats will also be procured for petting whilst we plot world domination. 8)

MM: Will this "RAF Marine Branch" be required Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays? If so, a lot of Crabs are gonna be seriously hacked off...

  6. you forgot Wednesday pm - sports make and mend...

  7. Coming from a naval type SgtPB...that is ironic banter!

  8. As long as it doesn't clash with a bank holiday/religious festival or Battle of Britain week (here's the one we won earlier fest)

It would be ironic if you wrote that while still at work...

Hmmn, banter aside, I'm rather pleased Cameron is begining to realise the magnitude of his folly with regard wholescale military cuts in light of the SDSR - whoever is politically responsible for the claimed overspend.

Whilst the tragic consequences unfolding in Japan inevitably increase in magnitude, my hope is that once again the armed forces can demonstrate their worth with regard humanitarian aid to civil powers and highlight the need to keep investing rather than relentlessly hacking & slashing manpower, wages/pensions & equipment...

  12. With respect NS, Camerunt is just going to scrap them after they have served their purpose in Labialand. There will be lots of handshakes and thank you's from on high but in the end the snivelling useless wet ponce is going to continue to irrevocably.....ah **** it I cant be arsed.....Finks, you take it from here.

  13. He's a crusher, since when has being innocent been an issue?

  14. Blah blah blah, Camerunt, blah blah blah, Camoron, blah bah ffap, hilarious pseudonyms, blah blah.

And just where do all you moaning glebbers think we'd be had Labour stayed in power?

Suck it up, we all have to take a bite of the shit sandwich the previous dogcockgovernment left us.

  15. I have worked as uniformed civil service for 10 years. I have a ******* right to moan. Labour were socialist shit bags and the condems are incompetent dithering middlemen.

  16. The only right you have as any kind of civil servant is the right to ingest vast quantities of ethylene glycol thereby saving said government a fortune.

  17. I have looked at the majority of threads and responses you have posted Monty, Seems you are nearly always negative, always picking other people's response's apart and always seating yourself on some sort of higher authority of life experience.

You and your retard baiters can have your fun but not with me. Get of my back you miserable old salt! I have some life experience outside of your beloved "Old days" so go take your self opinionated views and stick em.
Even Cunto is not as cuntish as you are.

Oh, and by the way. I am not the sort of civil servant that sits in an office full of fat old lefty pigs wasting the electorates coin. I work for a living.
