  1. Hi,

I was wondering, would being bankrupt effect me joining the navy? I was made bankrupt jan 2009 and discharged on janurary 2010. So as of now i have no more debts or anything but obviousley if they do an experian check on me the stigma will still be there.

    Thanks

  2. There are plenty of threads of this nature on this forum. Have a search and your question will be answered. The AFCO guys will no doubt be along and repeat themselves once more.

Providing there are no unresolved financial issues, such as CCJs, defaulted payments & you are now a discharged bankrupt, then you are eligible to apply however whether you will be granted security clearance is in the hands of the Defence Vetting Agency.

If joining as a rating your committed monthly outgoings should be less than around £440 per month & you must be in possession of a bank account.
