Hi, I really hope I am not intruding in your forum, as this truly is not my intention. Following is a little more about me and why I am posting on here. I am in the final year of my degree studying Psychology. As part of this, I have to undertake a personal project of vast interest to me. I have chosen to base my study on Posttraumatic stress disorder as it has a place close to my heart; having witnessed it first hand, as my sister has suffered from the disorder for the last nine years. It is my wish to carry out research in this area as I want to make a difference to the treatment and well-being of all posttraumatic stress disorder sufferers and understand it at a personal level. My project is based around posttraumatic stress disorder, general health status and personality type. These three elements have never been investigated together previously. By partaking in this research, it is hoped that another aspect of PTSD will begin to be better understood and a gateway opened for further research into the psychological treatment of the disorder. I hope my study will allow for the progression of professional practice and help those in the future who become subjected to this. The task is extremely simple and will only take at most fifteen minutes of your time. You will be required to complete four questionnaires online, which are completely confidential and anonymous. The researcher will only be able to identify your results by a number, you will never have to give your name and you will never be asked to provide any personal details that could identify you. I believe there should be no triggers and should you have any questions please feel free to post or pm me. Finally, you are entitled to withdraw your data or consent at any time during the research. I truly hope you will help me in completing my project, I have 5 weeks until it has to be completed and any help would be greatly appreciated. After uni I hope to carry on researching in this area and help to make posttraumatic disorder a more understood subject. This in turn I hope would help people like you and my sister. Please feel free to contact me with anything related to the research, as I really would value your comments, questions or help. Thank you for taking the time to read this post, even if you do not respond your interest is much appreciated. Those of you who do wish to respond I look forward to hearing from you soon.
