ATC or Warfare Officer

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. After completing AIB last week and being told that my FAT scores were not as competitive as others waiting for January, I have been told to consider of branches. In particular either Air Traffic Controller or Warfare Officer.

I have a high ATC from my FATs but i understand that there isn't much sea time as ATC (one reason I joined the RN). However Warfare seems to be the opposite and is sea trip after sea trip.

If there any existing serving officers from either branch or with information from either it would be greatly appreciated

  2. Not an Officer in either branch but if you want sea time Warfare Officer is for you. However one thing worth considering; I know plenty of Warfare Officers who have transferred to ATC but none the other way. Read into that what you will!
