Asthma + Peak flow

I’m looking at applying within the next few weeks and I know I’m getting ahead of myself but it’s just worrying me. I had asthma as a child and haven’t been prescribed ventolin since 2007, so the last 4 years are all clear.

A friend who is currently serving had issues with getting cleared for childhood asthma and he says it held his application up for almost a year. I was wondering if it’s worth recording a peak flow chart for 28 days prior to my medical or should I wait for what the doctor says?

Of course I will ask my AFCO when the times closer but I was just wondering what you guys thought or any past experience?

Being an Unofficial website there are no Medical experts here but I'd suggest an appointment with your own GP to explain your history/RN ambition/concerns then his/her examination & a satisfactory Peak Flow chart under his/her supervision would be written up & included within your Medical History. That would be called up later for scrutiny by the Recruiting Organisation & hopefully should relieve your fears on that old issue.
