I remember her coming into Devonport brand spanking new in 1955 ..
About 3 weeks before this happend a similar event happend on swiftsure with a LRP (LTS S/M) with a perferated ulcer, if memory serves me right they had to refuel on a county class before getting to Madera. but they showed this one to show International co-opperation.
Fine effort all involved :thumright: :thumright: :thumright:
Likewise, from Mutton Cove pier !!
Been talking to an old wafu mate of mine, might've been earlier than that, because she was at the 1953 Fleet Review as Flagship Home Fleet. But definitely saw her, the old ARK and AMETHYST pass Mutton Cove - traditional clear lower deck in the primary school in them days
No Ark wasn't at the 1953 review (I was! but as a lucky schoolboy spectator aboard Perseus). Unfortunately I no longer have my programme with chart of Spithead and all the ships identified.
:thumright: my last ships flight. Hms Danae Westland Wasp was called Perseus or Percy for short :thumright: ps Its all Greek to me ?? getting locked up in a castle :whew: :thumright:
