Are you leaving the Mob?

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. What are you thinking of doing when you leave the Mob?
    If you want a job where you can still have a sense of humour and a good laugh in the mess room then join the Railways. I kid you not.
    I did a few things after I left including the following;
    Personal protection for a rich bloke in Knightsbridge. Boring as hell.
    Police Officer in Manchester. Might as well handcuff yourself thanks to the PC brigade.
    Selling Insurance. Crap.
    Then I hit the jackpot and became a Train Driver.
    I do a 35 hour 4 day week for £37k a year.
    If I do my rest days and the odd Sunday it goes up to over £60k.
    You get the best seat on the Train and you are your own boss.
    And as long as you don't screw up, it's a job for life.
    If anyone is interested here is a link to give you all of the info you should need with links to vacancies.

    I just hope that this may be of some interest as it's not too easy trying to figure out what to do when you stop serving your country.
    Stay safe folks.

  2. My TX date in next Friday. I'm now commuting to London every day 1 hour each way. The last thing I want to do is work on the bloody things no matter how good the money is. But as you say there are a lot worse jobs out there.
