Application for ODP...

#1
Hello me again!
I found out that I don't need UCAS points to join as a qualified ODP as long as I'm HCPC registered and have either a Dip HE or degree I'm fine.

When would be the best time to get the ball rolling with regards to the joining process? Obviously I won't get my registration until September 2018 however is it possible to apply and complete the medical, fitness test ect whilst waiting for my registration to come through??

Thanks :)

I'd advise you to apply anytime from August to December this year. Reason? apart from the recruit test (valid 3 years), all other selection elements (pjft excepted - 6 months validity) are valid for a year. The earlier you apply, the more time you have to prepare and overcome any unforseen hurdles.

Do the usual waiting times apply for ODP (Qualified)?
My previous RT is valid until April 2018 I do believe.... give or take a month!

So far as I'm aware you can complete selection pending registration but cannot actually join until you have it. Obviously you can confirm this with the specialist recruiters on the number posted previously (02392 727096).

ODPs are few in number so my guess is you'll probably join Raleigh with a mixed class that may include nurses and Medical Assistants. Or even Stokers. In short, there probably isn't a defined intake or waiting time for trained ODPs, it's just a case of whenever you meet the entry criteria.
