A FORMER Royal Navy officer from Clanfield is appealing for help in finding out more about a recently deceased Royal Marine from the village so he can be honoured.
Lieutenant Commander Owen Jarrett MBE of Sunderton Lane and the Rising Sun pub in North Lane is trying to out more about former marine Roy Docwra.
Lt Cdr Jarrett said: “ I run the pub, and one of our loyal locals has sadly passed away.
“His funeral is on Tuesday, August 21 at Havant Crematorium, and there is to be a wake afterwards at the pub.
“His name is Roy Docwra and he is an ex Royal Marine; with no immediate family to refer to, I am attempting to find out a little more about him so that we can honour him in a way befitting someone who has served his country and the Corps.”
Anyone with information can contact Lt Cdr Jarrett at the pub on 02392596975, or email him at: [email protected].
